Chapter 2

I thought it was very true about the idea of interconnecting images with text. As an art person I know, as does anyone who has looked at forms of art work, that images can evoke emotions, thought, and inspire people without ever seeing text. Students would be able to learn so much more if their text were complemented by a great image but also if students took time to analyze images and build a better understanding of what images are really trying to say.
I don't really agree with the Ogn wrote about how people are still obsessed with written language as if that is bad. Written language is the starting point of learning how to read and understand language within a textual setting. Technology text should not be introduced until the written stage has been mastered. I think teachers should be obsessed with their students being able to have written language first and for most then allow the students to move on to other forms of making print.
